Last Thursday—the day after Mr. Manchin announced his agreement with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer—107 Democratic Members of Congress wrote a letter to Mr. Biden urging him to extend the pandemic pause on student loan payments and interest accrual past Aug. 31 when it is currently set to end.
